MLK Day (Reflections 2025)
📚 In his 1963 book, “Why We
Can’t Wait,” writing about the origins of racism in this country, King strongly
condemned the historic injustices inflicted on Native people. He wrote the
following:
“Our
nation was born in genocide when it embraced the doctrine that the original
American, the Indian, was an inferior race. Even before there were large
numbers of Negroes on our shores, the scar of racial hatred had already
disfigured colonial society. From the sixteenth century forward, blood flowed
in battles of racial supremacy. We are perhaps the only nation which tried as a
matter of national policy to wipe out its Indigenous population. Moreover, we
elevated that tragic experience into a noble crusade. Indeed, even today we
have not permitted ourselves to reject or feel remorse for this shameful
episode. Our literature, our films, our drama, our folklore all exalt
it.”
🤔 The ideology of whiteness of
American society will always be at war with itself. Serving a two-headed
monster Capitalism & Imperialism. Anyone and anything will be exploited to
carry on the mission of perceived privilege and superiority. -- A.M.
🔥 Martin Luther King Jr. said,
“I've come to believe we're integrating into a burning house”. He said
this while expressing his concern that the United States was losing its moral
vision and that people were integrating into a place that did not value justice
for the poor and disenfranchised.
🤔 How do you rebuild after the
house has been burned?

We
are the architects. Guided by a Sovereign God, our chief cornerstone. No weapon
formed against us shall prosper. "You, dear children, are from God and
have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who
is in the world." 1 John 4:4
The Time Is Now
"No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house." - Matthew 5:15
