Darkness Abounds but You Will Always Have Light

When the world is dark, Lord you light my path...

We must be aware that the same darkness that existed many moons ago is the same darkness that resides with us today.  Often times we become weary thinking that the problems of today are unique to our generation.  Ecclesiastes 1:9 tells believers that, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” Therefore, we will face darkness, but rejoice that Jesus has overcome the world and the light of his eternal love will forever be with us in the midst of the world’s darkness.

There may be times when our flames may flicker, but that is when we must draw closer to one true light and our strength to stand will be renewed.  I encourage you to hold fast to God’s living word, and know you are not alone in your struggle.  The same acts of evil that we face have been overcome by our one true risen savior.  Rely on the God’s word to direct your path, and guide your footsteps to walk in the light of his ever glowing love.

I will leave  you with meditation I read recently that reminds me of God's eternal light. Be Blessed.

Until Next Time… Shine Light

Meditations, Intimate Moments With God | My Candle
David said, ‘You will light my candle: the Lord my God will lighten my darkness’. Ps. 18:28.

Jesus said, ‘I am the Light of the world’ Jn. 8:12

Jesus said to his followers, ‘You are the light of the world’ Matt. 5:14.

My Candle

What was your darkness, David ?
World, flesh and Devil ?
My struggles, too.
Still fashionable, they,
still at work, creating darkness
these latter days.

And what of your light, David ?
A God-lit candle ?
My light, too ! !

Jesus, Saviour,
‘Candle of candles’,
Light of the world,
thank You that all Hell’s fury
can’t dim Your light !

And now, incredibly,
I’m called a light.
O, God, forgive and aid me
If, poorly representing You,
I flicker.
