Man's Advice is Nice, but God's Advice is Best

In her recently pinned letter with The Daily Princetonian Susan Patton has ruffled a few feathers. In it she advised current Princeton female students to “find a husband on campus before you graduate.”
According the Economix, The New York Times blog she explains her reasoning as follows:
Men regularly marry women who are younger, less intelligent, less educated. It’s amazing how forgiving men can be about a woman’s lack of erudition, if she is exceptionally pretty. Smart women can’t (shouldn’t) marry men who aren’t at least their intellectual equal. As Princeton women, we have almost priced ourselves out of the market. Simply put, there is a very limited population of men who are as smart or smarter than we are … you will never again be surrounded by this concentration of men who are worthy of you.
We are all entitled to our opinions. Therefore, I have no issue with Susan Patton sharing hers. All human advice is subjective and should be tested in light of scripture (if you are believer that is). In the article How Do I Know God's Will for a Marriage Partner? By Titus Institute provides a more balanced and biblical approach to finding/becoming a future mate.
As a parent, I understand it is our purest heart’s desire for our children to marry well, and live a life void some the stumbling blocks we may have experienced. We must understand that God’s word is the same today, tomorrow, and forever more. Stand firm on Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Until next time…Study and Show Yourself Approved
