Body brushing is an easy and inexpensive way of stimulating your circulation and lymphatic system, helping to eliminate toxins. Do you know the most effective way to dry body brush? Don't worry, I didn't either, but together will figure it out and brush away those nasty toxins.

What Type of Brush Should I Use?

Spa expert Ronel Corbin, Senior Vice President for ESPA, advises a brush made with natural, not synthetic, bristles and pick one that is fairly stiff.

How To Body Brush?

Make upward, sweeping movements, starting at your feet. Work up to your legs, thighs, buttocks, stomach. Go gentle on the thighs and stomach area. Brushing too hard on your thighs may break tiny blood vessels and create broken veins or capillaries. Then move onto your breasts, shoulders, and arms. Remember to work towards the heart. How Long Should I Body Brush?

It's recommended to do this once or twice a day, for at least five minutes. Fifteen minutes is considered optimal, but you'll need to work up to that over a period of time. There should be significant results after about a month of daily brushing. Via Julianne Ross of Body Brushing Basics, Life 123 Inc.

Use your dry skin brushing as a time to affirm your body and wellness. Pick a time that suitable for you.  Show yourself some love.
