God Is Our Refuge

Light Over Darkness

Days When You Want To Run And Hide

There are some days when so many fiery darts are thrown your way, you may feel you want to run and hide. Like a turtle crawls into its shell for protection, we seek a place of refuge. Find comfort in Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” God knew there would be days like this. That is why we are instructed each day to put on the full armor of God.

What Exactly Is The Full Armor of God?

Source: Ephesians 6: 13-17

Therefore, take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Once you are fully dressed in the full armor of God, Pray. It is by prayer that we renew our spiritual strength to stand. You have been called to service, and it’s hard to shine light if you run and hide. On those, “Just Leave Me Alone” days ask God for renewed strength, courage, and zeal. “The LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” (Psalm 84:11)

We overcome negative feelings by doing and thinking positive. Pour yourself into doing what is right and all negativity will flee from you. It is all out about the counterbalance.

Be encouraged! Until next time, keep shining.

A.M.
