Who knew that the courtship that brought you together would one day become a luxury? Our schedules are jammed pack with work, children, family, community demands, hobbies, etc.. When do you have time to date? The answer, you probably don’t; but you make the time.  We have to prioritize our marriages or face the consequences.

  • You are so over your daily routine
  • If going out consists only of a drive through or something family friendly
  • You begin to see your partner as co-worker instead of lover
  • You have nothing left to talk about but the kids
  • You can’t remember the last movie/show you saw alone together

Remember, every choice has a consequence.  Putting your marriage on the backburner will only lead to intimacy fizzling out of your marriage.  You don’t want to just exist with one another. The goal to live with passion, zeal, and commitment. Date nights are how you protect the oneness of your marriage.

Homework assignment: January, is the perfect time to put at least 12 date nights on your yearly calendar. If you do more than that, Great! Commit to at least once a month doing something together, just the two of you. The above websites are full of great ideas.
