Grace Makes Beauty Out of Ugly Things

Walking the Illuminated Path

God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things which should be changed and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other. ~ Reinhold Niebuhr

Grace is the salve that heals the frailty of humanity.  In our daily exchanges we sometimes make mistakes, and may injure the feelings of others.  We must muster the courage to admit when we are wrong, and with gratitude be thankful for forgiveness. Extending grace does not make you a doormat to others, grace makes room for love.  Grace has transformative powers in relationships.

Responding To Life Compassionately With G.R.A.C.E.

The G.R.A.C.E. model by Dr. Gary Pasternak

The G.R.A.C.E. model has five elements:

1. Gathering attention: focus, grounding, balance
2. Recalling intention: the resource of motivation
3. Attuning to self/other: affective resonance
4. Considering: what will serve
5. Engaging: ethical enactment, then ending

How can you walk with more grace in your life? The G.R.A.C.E. model is a tool to help us practice living gracefully with ourselves and others.
