May 7th is the 64th Annual National Day
of Prayer.
Prayer Demonstrates Our Faith In God
The key to prayer is faith in God, obediently following Him,
and praying according to His will. Rather done collectively or individually we
are instructed to pray (Philippians 4:6–7).
Prayer should not be seen as our means of
getting God to do our will on earth, but rather as a means of getting God's will done on earth. God’s wisdom
far exceeds our own.
President Obama on the National Day of Prayer
The president has been quoted as follows:
"One of our Nation's great
strengths is the freedom we hold dear, including the freedom to exercise our
faiths freely. For many Americans, prayer is an essential act of worship and a
daily discipline. Today and every day, prayers will be said for comfort for
those who mourn, healing for those who are sick, protection for those who are
in harm's way, and strength for those who lead." Source: Huffington

The National Day of Prayer is not without controversy. Many are calling for an end to the day.
Rather or not we have observed national day, as believers in the power of
prayer we must continue to pray without ceasing.
