In 1971 B.B. King co-founded FAIRR - Foundation for the Advancement of Inmate Rehabilitation and Recreation - dedicated to the improvement of prison conditions. The foundation grew out of conversations the musician has with inmates while performing free concerts. B.B. King is quoted as saying, “I would probably be in prison today if it hadn’t been for some folks caring about what I was doing”. Source: B.B. King: There is Always One More Time By David McGee

B.B. King also supported other charities and causes.  The Special Olympics, Precious Paws, and Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes received his support.

B.B. King will live on through his music.
