A Day We All Remember

Current Events

September 11th

September 11, 2001 was a day that tested America to its core.  We proved to be a resilient nation that can put aside petty differences and help our fellow man.  Instinctively we did what was needed to restore our country.  Our country will forever be distinguished as Pre 9/11 and Post 9/11, but just like other eras that tested our values we will endure. Triumphantly we stand today stronger and braver with proof that we can respect the humanity in each other.

“You can be sure that the American spirit will prevail over this tragedy.”~– Colin Powell

Although our spirits may be somber as we mark the 14th anniversary of September 11th, may also be encouraged that we are a united nation standing for justice and liberty for all.  It is our daily responses to injustice and tragedy that define who we are as a nation.

The Journey Forward

Thanks to the organizers of the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, September 11 is no longer just about grieving what we lost, but about using the day to make the world a better place.

"Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11." ~ President, Barack Obama
