Grace Is Sufficient
2 Corinthians 12: 9-10 “But he said to me, "My grace is
sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore,
I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power
may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in
insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak,
then I am strong.”
The Greek word for "sufficient" here is arkei,
which implies endurance, strength, or satisfaction.
When you think back over your life and choices you have
made, aren’t you glad that you had God’s grace? Do you thank God for all the
things that didn’t happen that could have happened?
What could have beset, did not. That alone is enough to be grateful.

The Role of Grace
Excerpt from UMC.org
We experience three kinds of grace in our life with God —
prevenient, justifying and sanctifying.
Prevenient grace literally means "the grace that comes
before." Prevenient grace calls us into a relationship with God before we
are even aware of God. It prepares us for the dawning awareness that God loves
us so much that God seeks us out first.
Justifying grace happens when Christians abandon all those
vain attempts to justify themselves before God, to be seen as “just” in God’s
eyes through religious and moral practices. When God’s “justifying grace” is
experienced and accepted, it’s a time of pardon and forgiveness, of new peace, joy,
and love.
Sanctifying grace enables us to grow into the image of
Christ and leads to inward and outward holiness.
Grace Be With You
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of
God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Cor. 13:13)
Grace is not earned, nor is it a reward. Partly because we
could never earn it as we are imperfect beings, but because grace is the gift
of the Son's atonement, it is available to everyone who participates in His
love which is perfect.
Try to identify places in your own life where you might be
dependent on something other than God. Step back and pray for more grace and
allow grace to fill the space that only God should reside.
Keep Shining
