Say It With A Photo

Living Through The Lens

“A portrait is not a likeness. The moment an emotion or fact is transformed into a photograph it is no longer a fact but an opinion. There is no such thing as inaccuracy in a photograph. All photographs are accurate. None of them is the truth. ” ~ Richard Avedon

With advent of technology like Instagram and Flickr everyone has become a photographer of sorts.  I enjoy photography because no two pictures are exactly the same.  Photography allows you freeze frames moments of time.  Like the below picture shared by Visit San Diego for Fan Foto Friday - 3 May 2013.

Living Through The Lens Is just my way of elevating photography (a beautiful artform).

"Compared to most art forms, photography is a relative newcomer. Having been around for less than 200 years its place in the art world is still being established. Interestingly, there have been many arguments against photography being considered art, one of which is that the camera is a 'machine'. However, one must ask if a camera is any more a machine than a musician's instrument, a sculptor's chisel or a painter's brush?"~ Photography as a Fine Art by Matthew Smeal
