YOUR KITCHEN TABLE | Family Meal Time

Engaging Conversation On A Platter

Source | Healthy Kids Today

I am sure you have read the countless books and articles on the importance of dining together as a family.  I am a true believer in meals together in my home.  I am not saying everyday we get it exactly right because just like everyone else we have scheduling obligations.  However, we make a conscious effort to put our family meals first.  Even if we are dining out the purpose of the meal is to engage one another.

Do you make it a point to encourage dining together in your home?

Here are few tips to bring everyone back to your kitchen table.

Key Ingredients for Family Meal Time

Togetherness - The whole family at a set time and place.

Be Present - Sit facing one another, not looking at a TV, computer or phone.

Food - Family dining is the perfect time to experience new foods and cuisines together.

Conversation -There should be conversation. View this time as your "family huddle". Let no topic be off limits.

Tools You Can Use
