What good is shining your light in a place that is already illuminated? We must confront the darkness of life head on. For in the dark your light is most useful. 2 Timothy 1:7 states, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline”. You see, we are equipped to stand boldly in the place of darkness. There is nothing to fear.
Your Light Has A Purpose
Jesus teaches His followers. “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).
I ask that you join with me to be a force, to expose darkness and shine light in every dark place. On twitter use the hashtag #shinelight, as a call to action, and as a spotlight for positive change.
God has given to every person a light to guide his way. John 1:9 states, "That was the true light, which enlightens every man coming into the world." The light shows us what is right and what is wrong. It is up to us to shine light or embrace darkness.
