Are We Free Yet?

Causes and Awareness

Juneteenth

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. ~ Galatians 5:13

Why Is June 19th Observed?

Juneteenth is an annual observance on June 19 to remember when Union soldiers enforced the Emancipation Proclamation and freed all remaining slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865. This day is an opportunity for people to celebrate freedom and equal rights in the United States. Source: timeanddate.com

Are you Free?

Everyone has their own definition of freedom and the extent in which they want to be free. My questions to you on this Juneteenth is: What is Freedom To You? and What are you doing with said freedom?

Ways One May Enslave Themselves

The most dangerous forms of slavery is the ones you impose on yourself.

· Fear

· Unforgiveness

· Addiction

· Hatred

· Racism, Classism, Sexism (any `ism)

· Walking by the Flesh Instead of By The Spirit

Live Free

The first step to freedom is recognizing the chains the bind you.

Liberation and freedom flows out of a pure heart and a love. Freedom for one should never be dependent on the exploitation of another. This Juneteenth let us not just celebrate with a picnic, but help to empower others with a message of what it means to be truly free.

The law may free you, but only YOU can free yourself. Live Free!
