Walk With Gentleness

Walking The Illuminated Path

Gentleness

"I learned that it is the weak who are cruel and that gentleness is to be expected only from the strong." ~ Leo Rosten, Captain Newman

Gentleness is an outgrowth of our love and the complete opposite of hostility. When we walk in the spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Often times in life it is not the message that isn't being received, but its the manner is which it is being conveyed.

As we serve we must remain gentle. Our best approach is the follow the instructions mentioned in the book of Ephesians, "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." A gentle word will turn away wrath.

Can you recall being in a heated argument or debate? Which person is usually the most effective? The most hostile, or the most gentle?

The stronger we become the more we will need to focus on gentleness especially in our daily walk with others. Gentleness is a strong hand with a soft touch. We don't want our actions to repel others. Our actions should be evidence of the God we serve.

Remember! To stand on truth, speak in love, and walk with gentleness.
